![]() Creating a PDF can involve compressing a file, making it take up less storage space. They can be viewed on almost all devices. PDF files aren’t typically created from scratch, but are usually converted, saved or ‘printed’ from other documents or images before sharing, publishing online or storing. It is maintained by the International Organisation for Standardization (ISO). The PDF format is now a standard open format that isn’t just available under Adobe Acrobat. The format has evolved to allow for editing and interactive elements like electronic signatures or buttons. It was developed by Adobe so people could share documents regardless of which device, operating system, or software they were using, while preserving the content and formatting. PDF stands for ‘Portable Document Format’ file. Contact files from Outlook that are saved/exported into MSG format would include whatever contact information had been entered, while calendar items would include the time, date and location of the meeting or diary item, plus any extra information. The files can also include email attachments. Like the EML format, MSG email files include a header with the email subject, the sender and receiver, and the date and time the email was sent, as well as the body of the message. However, as well as email messages, Outlook will also save contact and calendar items into MSG format. MSG is short for ‘message’, which is what the files are. MSG files can be opened within Outlook, but also with other some other applications. Microsoft Outlook can be accessed online with internet browsers, or through software applications, which are available for all the main operating systems. Things like that make it difficult to not get frustrated when trying to use SeaMonkey.Īs I said, I never noticed this myself, because I use mail mostly in plain text mode (with the exception of quoted text), but I do feel this is something that needs to be addressed. The MSG file format was developed by Microsoft for its Outlook email program. That is, It does get included in the selection itself, it just isn't visible. For instance, if you select all, the selection does not include the space. If you have a space at the end of a line, the space isn't highlighted when selected. However, the word "Subject" to the left of the textbox does not collapse it remains visible and now overlaps the formatting toolbar. If you drag the separator bar between the message body and the toolbars up, the subject line will be collapsed. If you click on "Address" to choose a recipient from the address book, the list shows everybody in your address book, including the ones without email addresses, which can't be used as a recipient! Expected results: to see only those contacts with email addresses. This only happens in blocks, not in plain text ("Body Text"). ![]() Now if you right-click on a position to the right of the line of text (for instance if you plan to paste something with the right-click menu) the whole block of text is selected and any pasted content will replace the text instead of being inserted. Type a line of text and change it to a paragraph (or any block type element like Heading 1).The color changes to black for subsequent text. Put the cursor below the last line and then perform any function like change to "Heading 1" or indenting or alignment. Type some text, select all, change to another color. For instance, making a selection bold where parts of the selection are already bold makes the entire selection bold, it doesn't flip the already bold parts to plain. Hit Align->Center again and the centering of the lines keep being flipped around.Īn editor isn't supposed to behave like this! If you perform an action on a selection, all of the selection is supposed to get the same treatment. This flips the centering of the lines: the line that wasn't centered, now is, and vice versa. Now suppose you meant to center both lines, so you press Ctrl+A to select all and then hit Align->Center again. ![]() Center one of the lines with Align->Center. Type two lines of text, separated by a return. The cursor is now supposed to be blinking on the left side of the image, but it isn't. With the image on the screen, now click the mouse to the right of the image, see the blinking cursor, then press the left arrow. Why not? Animated GIFs show up fine in received messages, why not here? ![]() What do you see? The gif does not animate.
